McDonald’s new “Saweetie meal” was officially launched in the U.S. this week.
The fast food chain’s latest menu collaboration with American rapper Saweetie follows the company’s other recent meal collaborations, including with global K-pop band BTS as well as U.S. rapper Travis Scott and Colombian singer J Balvin.
The Saweetie meal includes a Big Mac, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets with two sauces (“Saweetie ‘N Sour” and “Tangy BBQ”) as well as medium fries and a medium Sprite soft drink, according to the McDonald’s website.
The meal is served in “icy new packaging” inspired by the rapper’s “own style,” McDonald’s said, USA Today reports.
In a statement last month announcing the launch, Saweetie said: “McDonald’s and I run deep – from growing up back in Hayward, California, all through my college days – so I had to bring my icy gang in on my all-time favorites,” People reported at the time.
“Depending on the mood I’m in, there are so many ways to enjoy my order. I like to keep things fresh – I know that’s right,” the rapper added.
McDonald’s chief marketing and digital customer experience officer, Morgan Flatley, stated last month: “We’re thrilled to team up with Saweetie, a true brand fan who puts her own spin on everything she touches across music, fashion, beauty and culture.
“And now she’s brought that spark and creativity to her signature McDonald’s order by celebrating her love for our food and passion for mixing things up.”
When Is the Saweetie Meal Coming Out?
The Saweetie meal was officially launched on Monday. It is available now for a limited time only at participating McDonald’s branches in the U.S.
It can be ordered using the McDonald’s mobile app, can be purchased in-store at participating restaurants—including via drive-thru—and through McDelivery, the company’s delivery service, USA Today reported on Monday.
How Much Is the Saweetie Meal at McDonald’s?
McDonald’s said the price of the Saweetie meal will vary depending on the location, according to several media reports.
According to RealMenusPrices.com—a restaurant/hotel review website also providing information on restaurant/fast food chain prices—a Big Mac meal (which includes medium fries and either a soft drink or a salad) costs about $5.99, although prices may vary. McDonald’s has been contacted for comment.
The Saweetie Meal Shirt
The latest McDonald’s menu collaboration has inspired T-shirts bearing images of Saweetie promoting the latest meal, which were shared in a series of posts from McDonald’s Instagram account in the lead up to the launch.
Different Saweetie meal-themed shirts have surfaced various websites including on eBay, where a T-shirt featuring the McDonalds logo with the words “Saweetie crew” is priced at $25.99. The rapper was seen wearing a Saweetie crew T-shirt at a launch of the new meal at a McDonald’s in Lynwood, California on Monday.
