One month after having a loss, Carmella revealed her story with an ectopic pregnancy.
Carmella updated her global fan base on a personal matter on Monday night via Instagram. On the social media site Instagram, she shared a black and white photo of herself lying in a hospital bed along with a few quotations about miscarriage.
Since today is the last day of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, Carmella wrote alongside a slideshow of photos, “I’ve debated posting this because I’m not looking for any sort of sympathy, but today is the last day of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and I wanted to share my story.”
“Today, I was treated for an ectopic pregnancy,” the WWE star continued. After experiencing an early miscarriage in September, I never imagined that this would occur to me.
Nothing can prepare you for this news after getting a positive pregnancy test, the 35-year-old wrestler continued after opening out about her struggles. Given the early loss I had already suffered, I was cautiously optimistic this time, but I was hoping for the best.
Carmella said, “I spent 12 hours in the ER on Saturday when I started having some strong aches on my left side,” as she described her trying hospital stay to her fans. I received the heartbreaking news that this was in fact an abnormal pregnancy following numerous testing and ultrasounds.
Carmella talked openly about the psychological battle that went hand in hand with the physical battle.
Carmella also talked about the mental hardship that came with the physical shock to her body in her Instagram post. She encouraged other ladies who had also lost pregnancies to support one another.
The reason I’m revealing all of this is because it seems so lonely right now, the woman said. Why is this not discussed more often? Last week, my husband and I watched @iliza’s brand-new comedy show where she was candid about having a miscarriage. I immediately started crying.
Then, in a comedy special, the WWE star clarified the message. She went on to say that we should be talking about this subject more freely so that women don’t blame themselves or believe there is anything wrong with them, Carmella continued. I wish to follow suit. Since I fall into this category, it is happening to me.
“Again, I’m not looking for sympathy, I know I’ll eventually recover from all of this intellectually, physically, and emotionally,” she said in her closing statement. I want to let everyone who is going through ANY sort of pregnancy loss know that their feelings and emotions are real, there is nothing wrong with them, and they are not alone. ❤️”
