When musician Davido’s three-year-old son Ifeanyi drowned in a swimming pool, eight people who were there have been arrested.
On Tuesday, November 1, the well-known Nigerian blog instablog9ja posted on Instagram that David Ifanyi’s nanny, cook, and other domestic staff had been arrested to help with the police investigation into the tragedy.
Eight persons were taken in for interrogation, and after a thorough investigation, anyone found to be responsible for the child’s murder will be arrested, according to the police, who confirmed the arrest to the BBC through Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command.
On October 17, Davido and his fiancée Chioma Rwoland celebrated the third birthday of their baby. On October 23, they threw a star-studded celebration.
Davido and chef Chioma, the deceased’s mother, were reportedly both away when the terrible tragedy took place on October 31 at their Banana Island home.
Chioma and Davido have not yet responded to the incident.
