Consolidated as one of the greatest athletes in American sports, LeBron James has just been voted the highest paid player in the NBA, according to a survey by the American magazine Forbes. With earnings valued at US$111.2 million (R$606.5 million at the current price), the Los Angeles Lakers shirt 6 tops the Top 10 in the league for the eighth consecutive year.
In this case, US$ 41.2 million (R$ 224.7 million) were salaries for LeBron James, while the other US$ 70 million (approximately R$ 382 million) were from contracts outside the professional basketball league, such as advertising and sponsorships.
To give you an idea, LeBron James broke his own record set in 2020-2021, with US$ 96.5 million (R$ 526.3 million) billed. In the next season, the earnings of the Top 10 athletes are estimated to exceed US$ 714 million (R$ 3.89 billion), a turnover 28% higher than last season.
Second on the Forbes list, point guard Stephen Curry, from the Golden State Warriors, has earnings estimated at US$92.8 million (R$506.1 million). Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant closes the Top 3 with $87.9 million.
