During the latest episode of Sister Wives, Kody Brown and his remaining wife, Robyn Brown, take time to go meet Mykelti Brown Padron’s twins. However, Kody proves that his relationship with Avalon Padron is fake. Likewise, it reminds many people of the sham of Kody pretending to be a “dad” for the camera with Truely Brown.
Kody Brown Doesn’t Get A Warm Reception
Undeniably, Sister Wives fans are getting to know Christine Brown Woolley’s daughter more and more. Truely Brown was the first baby to join the show when Sister Wives aired in 2010. When the world was learning about polygamy through the lens of the Browns, Christine was pregnant with Truely. Now, she is living with Christine and David Woolley in Utah and fans get to see her growing up. Now that she is fourteen, she understands more about the family and she is becoming her own person.
However, seemingly, there has always been a bit of strain in Kody Brown and Truely’s relationship. Even as a young kid, fans saw the strange interactions between Truely and her dad. Then, as the pandemic hit, it was hard to know when Kody would allow her to be with him. After the divorce, Truely was sad to move away, but she took the news like a champ. But fans are seeing some similarities between Truely and her niece, Avalon Padron. Furthermore, fans spot even more evidence that Kody is a father and grandfather in name alone. People believe Kody’s relationship with some of his kids and grandkids is manufactured for looks.
Kody Brown Proves His Relationship With Avalon & Truely Is Fake
After seeing Avalon Padron and Kody Brown interact on the latest episode of Sister Wives, fans aren’t sold on the relationship being real. On Reddit, fans spotted that Kody proved his relationship with Avalon is very similar to interactions with Truely Brown. First, one user says, “Avalon takes after Aunt Truely.” Then, they add, “After the first ep of the season I felt like Avalon clearly didn’t know who Kody was. For me, her reaction to Kody in this last episode basically sealed that belief. When she said nope to a hug for Kody she reminded me of Truely saying ‘no thank you’ when Kody asked her for a kiss.”
- Additionally, another fan points out, “And Tony referred to him as Kody, not grandpa.”
- Someone else replies, “Sobyn corrected him w grandpa.”
Avalon Padron Doesn’t Know Him
But the original poster wasn’t the only Sister Wives fan to notice Avalon Padron pulling back from Kody Brown. While the cameras were rolling to show the sweet visit from Kody and Robyn Brown to meet the twins, Avalon was facing a stranger. Furthermore, Mykelti Brown Padron mentions they don’t see him often. Likewise, many remember Truely Brown having a similar reaction when Kody and Christine were talking about Grandma coming to live with them when she was little.
- “Hilarious that you say this. My husband watched with me today, something he rarely does, and said ‘ha, that child was like ‘nah, I’m good dude’, kids always know’ and I had to tell him about Truely’s ‘ no thank you daddy’ when he asked for a hug or kiss or whatever.”
- “It was very telling. Poor little Avalon looked at him like Truley looked at the goodbye scene when Kody was acting all strange around her. I got the impression he was only there because the cameras were there, and he and Robyn need to film with other people than themselves.”
- “Bahaha. I did watch this episode, because I heard a lot about Gabe talking to his Mom (and I adore Gabe and am interested in hearing his thoughts about the drama). Lol. Saw Avalon look at that man like they just met! No hug for you, sir. No thank you. You get the non committal for intimacy of a fist bump, no post blow out.”
Some Fans Think Kody Brown Doesn’t Make The Effort
Seemingly, some Sister Wives fans think it is clear that Kody Brown doesn’t make enough effort to get to know his kids and grandkids. During his rant about being willing to work with his estranged kids, he was quick to blame distance on why he and Maddie Brown Brush‘s relationship isn’t close. But Christine and Janelle Brown were quick to refute his excuses. They joked about there being “devices” that he could contact them with to foster better relationships.
- “I thought it was also pretty telling that they’re not as close as they claim to be.”
- “Absolutely! I haven’t watched last night’s episode yet, but did just watch last week’s. When he said it was Maddie’s fault they moved away and he didn’t have a relationship with his grandkids I was yelling! My family lives 4 states away, yet my kids always had relationships with them and was happy to see them! Even if it was once a year, or maybe two years.”
- “I’m willing to bet Kody will never see any of those kids again now that Tony and Mykelti have moved to North Carolina and have had a falling out with Robyn.”
- “I agree. My kids only see my dad 3-4 times a year but still call him grandpa Joe and recognize him. I’m guessing they don’t see him that often, whether it be in person or virtually.”
What do you think? Do you think Truely Brown and Avalon Padron’s interactions prove that Kody Brown is only doing it for show? Do you believe he has a good relationship with them but they are shy on camera? Is their reaction because he doesn’t see them frequently? Drop your comments below.
