Four time MVP still has his partner’s back
The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their fifth consecutive loss against the Brooklyn Nets this Christmas Day with a disappointing performance by Russell Westbrook.
Although this losing streak can easily be attributed to the absence of many players due to safety protocols and health regulations, many have Westbrook under the microscope.
However, it seems like four time MVP player of the year LeBron James, does not agree as he evidenced in his post-game comments.
“I think his decision-making was spectacular tonight… He gave us extra possessions, he just missed a lot of looks around the basket which I know he can’t stand as well ” said LeBron after the game.
James did not address the 16 missed shots his partner took, including a 0-for-3 in the fourth quarter culminating in a missed dunk that hit the rim with 26 seconds to go. No, LeBron didn’t talk about the anything that could diminish his partner’s performance Westbrook missed 16 shots.
In statistical terms, Westbrook’s performance is not that terrible, although his numbers have done little for the Lakers who are heavily dependent on LeBron and AD.
The point guard averages 19.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 8.1 assists this season with 45% shooting from the field and 30.4% from the perimeter. It falters from the personnel line with a 65.6% success rate.
