Sister Wives star Meri Brown responded to fans’ interest in the polygamous family’s infamous Coyote Pass land in Arizona.

Sister Wives Sneak Peek: Kody Brown Says He Doesn't Feel 'Safe' with Meri

“I didn’t know there was so much interest in Coyote Pass!” Meri, 53, explained on the Monday, July 29 episode of “The Sarah Fraser Show.” “It’s funny how people go there to take a picture, it’s funny. I didn’t know it was such a big deal.”

The Brown family, which included Kody Brown and his then-wife Meri, Janelle BrownChristine Brownand current wife Robyn Brownpurchased the large estate in 2018 for $820,000 with the intention of building four separate homes, one for each wife. The construction process was delayed due to the longer-than-expected time to sell the four homes in Las Vegas, Nevada, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and Kody’s subsequent separation from Meri, Janelle, 55, and Christine, 52, within two years.

Meri remained coy about the status of her ownership of Coyote Pass and her future plans surrounding the property, suggesting there has been no undisclosed news regarding development.

The family has always attributed the construction delays to financial reasons. Kody revealed plans to pay off Coyote Pass during season 18 of Sister Wives after he said Janelle was “annoying him with it.” However, it would be the focus of one of their final arguments when Meri got into an argument with Kody and Robyn, 45, over “dividing the property” in a November 2023 episode.

The owner of Lizzie’s Heritage Inn felt that Kody had “already made the decision” regarding the property division, as the proposed agreement detailed that Kody would receive four acres, Robyn four acres, Janelle four acres, and Meri two acres.

“I don’t think that’s fair,” Meri explained during the TLC series. “Because regardless of the fact that he and I haven’t been in a relationship for eight or 10 years… I’m still part of the family and I still contribute financially. And so I deserve a share of the property and not just what he thinks he’s worthy of.”

The development of Coyote Pass remained at a standstill following Kody’s separation from his three wives. Christine was the first to announce in November 2021 that she had left the businessman, while In contact broke the news that Janelle split from Kody in December 2022. Just a month later, Meri and Kody confirmed their split in a joint statement on Twitter.

Christine was the first of his ex-girlfriends to walk away from the property, selling her share of the land back to Kody and Robyn for $10 in July 2022. The full cash value of Christine’s share was estimated at $213,420 at the time of the sale.

It is unclear what Kody plans to do with the property since Robyn remains his only wife. In contact confirmed that Kody was planning a major upgrade to Robyn’s $1.8 million estate after she filed permits to renovate her home on December 11, 2023.

The couple, who were married in a civil ceremony in December 2014, are apparently planning some major changes, as the permit allows the homeowners to replace the roof, relocate garden lines and possibly demolish some parts of the house. In addition, the couple plans to upgrade the solar panels, water heater and mechanical equipment.
