After watching the latest episode, many Sister Wives fans believe Robyn and Kody Brown are manipulating information to clean up their images. While Kody has admitted that TLC encourages certain drama to gain ratings, now fans think they are in the process of doing damage control after Garrison Brown’s passing. Some Sister Wives fans find it grueling to watch Robyn and Kody Brown having strategic conversations knowing the future ahead.
Robyn And Kody Brown Are Doing Damage Control
During the latest episode of Sister Wives, fans picked up on the underlying strategy being used by Robyn and Kody Brown to try and make them look less like villains to viewers. Seemingly, Robyn is very worried about Meri, Janelle, and Christine’s kids’ relationship with Kody. Since the divorces, Kody shares that he is angry and unwilling to talk with his kids who are dragging his name through the mud to other family members. However, Robyn insists that he reconcile with them to alleviate trauma like she had with her dad growing up. Kody feels deeply hurt that his kids have shut him out.
Likewise, he wants people to understand he is so depleted from the energy it takes to process his ex-wives leaving, he doesn’t have anything left to deal with his kids trashing him. Furthermore, he admits his only true goal is to pour into his relationship with Robyn. But fans have picked up on a crafty twist by the couple that makes the future even harder to stomach.
Robyn & Kody Brown’s Strategic Words Hit Harder Knowing Future
After watching Robyn and Kody Brown’s argument, many people are having a hard time watching them try to “clean up” their image. However, fans are struggling to watch knowing that Garrison Brown’s suicide happened after the fight.
On Reddit, Sister Wives fans discuss how difficult it is to watch Robyn and Kody Brown fight knowing what is coming in the future. First, a user says, “It is ghoulish watching the run up to a tragic suicide.” Then, they add, “With every Strategic word and every insincere act I am reminded of the loss that is coming to them and it’s making it impossible for me to continue to watch this. That’s all.” Furthermore, fans think that Kody and Robyn strategically chose words that would help viewers sympathize with them. However, some people believe it was all filmed to control the narrative for viewers ahead of Garrison’s death.
Was The Conversation Strategically Planned?
Another fan points out that the fight seems staged. Likewise, they believe it was filmed after Garrison Brown‘s passing to make it appear Robyn and Kody made an effort to contact and repair relationships with Meri, Janelle, and Christine’s kids.
- “I think that driveway conversation was after his passing. Robyn uses the word ‘grief’ and immediately starts crying. Kody saying he specifically reached out to Gabe. All of the other kids have so much ‘contempt’ for him – when we know the day it happened Kody refused to go with Gabe back to the scene. And Kody just looks almost shell shocked in this whole thing, which is totally natural in grief.”
- “Agree. In addition to what you pointed out, Kody tends to lump Gabe and Garrison together… ‘those boys’, the horrid pencil remark… to specifically say he reached out to Gabe and not mention Garrison makes me think this was filmed more recently.”
- Another fan objects, “It’s called editing. I imagine he did mention Garrison but it was edited out prior to air. Notice how Garrison has not been mentioned at all by anyone? Isn’t that unusual considering the past couple seasons? Editing. This persistent conspiracy theory that Kody and Robyn put together this scene after Garrison’s death is silly.
Some People Aren’t Buying That It Was Before Garrison’s Passing
However, other Sister Wives fans aren’t sold on the idea that Robyn and Kody Brown’s argument was after Garrison Brown’s passing. While some people still think it was scripted no matter the timeline.
- “I live in Arizona – Garrison passed in March. There has not been snow since then to now (not the amount they were standing in at least). That looked like December or early January snow. So no, this scene was not filmed recently. If you want to rephrase and say it was edited to take anything with Garrison out? Yes. Maybe the family wished it to be this way. Was that snow fight staged? Yes. Horrific acting.”
- “This was my first thought. The producers probably took out any mention of Garrison that might have happened during that ‘fight.’”
Is Weather The Clue Fans Needed?
Although some Redditors are sure that the scene was filmed in 2022-2023 because of the weather, other people supplied articles discussing winter storms that occurred in March 2024. Specifically, some think that the fight was to spin the negative perspective of Robyn and Kody Brown who were a big factor in Garrison Brown’s mental health struggles through COVID-19.
- “https://x.com/NWSFlagstaff/status/1774780928419913850 This is a snowfall report from the area from 3/31/24. I don’t know the area or where they live, but someone with more knowledge can find out if they are near a place with high snowfall from that storm.”
- But someone else says their area nearby didn’t get the snow. Adding, “They aren’t far from me at all – there was not that much of snow (as seen in the show) on the ground.”
- “Looking into it more and finding out where they live (Ft Valley). Fort valley had multiple days of 2 inch accumulation for early April. Looks consistent from what I saw on the show. Have to make the chart yourself, but below is the link. Just make sure to specify Ft Valley and not the wider Flagstaff area. https://www.weather.gov/wrh/climate?wfo=fgz .”
Which Outcome Is More Tragic?
Several viewers went back and forth about when a snowy background would have been present in Robyn and Kody Brown’s area. But others think it is even more tragic if the conversation occurred before Garrison Brown‘s passing.
- “On a podcast I listen to this morning they said because there was snow on the ground this had to have been filmed before his passing. It hasn’t snowed in Flagstaff since his passing. Makes it more tragic. I hope he feels every bit of that flipping knife in his kidneys.”
- “I live in Arizona – there was not that much snow at the time or after his death. Was it horrible acting to make them both look better? Yes. But it was not filmed after his passing. I truly think these two saw viewers reactions from last season and decided to do a redemption tour… and it’s not working.”
- “I think it was before his passing too, I mean Kody can’t be the literal Devil, can he? Cause if this was filmed after, that’s horrible.”
