At least 40 films later, American actor-director Clint Eastwood‘s latest adventure, ‘Cry Macho’, opened the 34th edition of the Tokyo International Film Festival last week. With various Oscar nominations, the film is a heartwarming road trip movie with Eastwood playing the lead. As many as 50 years after Eastwood made his debut feature, ‘Play Misty For Me’, the actor is as much in command of his craft as ever.
The premise of the film reads: “A onetime rodeo star and washed-up horse breeder, in 1978, takes a job from an ex-boss to bring the man’s young son home and away from his alcoholic mum. Crossing rural Mexico on their back way to Texas, the unlikely pair faces an unexpectedly challenging journey, during which the world-weary horseman may find his own sense of redemption through teaching the boy what it means to be a good man.”
